Serbia joins the celebrations for hospice and palliative care

BelHospice has registered an event for World Day making Serbia the 45th country joining the celebrations.

The event will commence with a dinner hosted by the Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine followed by a week of hospice and palliative care promotion.

BELhospice is the first specialised charity organisation in Serbia that provides palliative care to cancer patients during the last phases of their illness. The concept of palliative care means providing the best possible care in the given circumstances to both patients and their families thus improving their quality of their lives.

The Serbian government endorsed a national strategy for palliative care in March this year.
